Ask the Experts.
Expert answers to commonly asked questions.
Q: What does it mean for a company to be IICRC-certified?
A: The IICRC (the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) was formed in 1972 to serve as an independent, non-profit certification body, to set and promote high standards and ethics; and to advance communication and technical proficiency within the inspection, cleaning and restorative service industry.
The IICRC certification is based upon successful completion of a class in which the curriculum follow industry standards for that category as well as achieving a passing grade on a standardized exam. Once certification is achieved, registrants must earn Continuing Education Credits to maintain their certification.
Consumers should know that when they hire an IICRC-certified technician or firm, they have hired experts who will ensure that services will be completed in accordance with the industry's highest standards. Encore Cleaning and Restoration is an IICRC-certified service provider.
Q: Why should I have my carpet professionally cleaned?
A: Your carpet collects bio contaminants, volatile organic compounds, combustion products, asbestos, dust mites, chemical contamination, outdoor pollutants, pesticides, allergens, grease and oil deposits, sand, soil, food particles, bacteria and more. Your carpet clings on to these contaminants and infect the air in your home affecting your health and allergy problems. Regular cleanings will prevent contaminants from effecting your carpet and health.
Q: How often should a carpet be cleaned?
A: To preserve the lifetime of the carpet, it is best to have it cleaned every 12 to 18 months by qualified professionals. Soil build up and foot traffic causes the wear in the carpet.
